The Band’s ambush was set and we didn’t have to wait long before a Drow entered flanked by two thuggish looking half-orcs. After a few steps inside the bar they sensed something was off and we sprung into full fledged ambush. I had my undead throw their tankards at the three, and my Band mates charged the group. The Half-Orcs were easily knocked out, and the Drow made a break for the door but I beat him to it, and Berb dragged the unconscious Drow back inside just in time for the Half-Orcs to get back up, as they shifted into large hulking fiend creatures.
The fight got extremely complicated when Mekk decided that the fiends were regenerating and thus must be dealt with by fire. Now, the bar was a wooden structure with a wood and straw ceiling, on wooden support beams, half on the docks, half in the ocean. The structure was now currently on fire. We battled the fiends a little more despite the flames, and Goldenfang smashed through some of the more flimsy walls in order to rescue the Barmaid, Bethany whom was knocked unconscious earlier.
As we scrabbled out of the burning bar, Berb and Anthrax weren’t so lucky, however they are both reasonably durable and clambered out of the burning thatch before it completely sunk. Deciding that if the fiends survived that, then we couldn’t be bothered trying to keep them dead, we made haste back to the truck. Benny tried to eat the brain of one of the Dead Cultists (although he protested a little because Dead Brains are like rotten food) and promptly fell into a pain induced stupor and then pushed a small gem out of an orifice that didn’t look large enough, apparently it was some sort of embedded mind control stone. Goldenfang decided that the Barmaid, despite being a cultist who had been groomed from birth into loyalty to Gaze, should now be his bride, and as such bought her a slave collar and locked her in our treasure room. Shockingly, I don’t trust the pawn of a creature who controls their victims through mind control stones.
We decided to see if we could find the elusive Gaze. Berb talked to some of the rats and found out that Gaze might be underground because apparently there were some areas of the pits that even the rats wouldn’t go.
